CO2 pellet blast cleaning methods are currently being used in this industry. We have read many published studies performed by other cleaning contractors and/or blue chip manufacturers. The CO2 studies were done by Hanford Westinghouse and Agencies in Idaho.
As a service company TechniClean can acknowledge that we have surpassed the technology, as far as cleaning, in hardened difficult surfaces and exterior surfaces of buildings and equipment. We design and build our own disbursement units for site specific needs. Not only is the disbursement process different, we don't have costly shutdown due to feed lines being frozen, with several years of research and development we addressed this problem before we introduced our specific process to our potential customers.
TechniClean's method will prove to be aggressive in cleaning lowgrade [alpha and beta] decontamination of surfaces and piping as well as ducting. Pipe cleaning interior and exterior has been in our scope of work for twentythree years. Tank cleaning and confined entry is also an area where we have many years of experience. Our process is adaptable to robotic devices.
Safety is a very important factor in the chain of progression for pursuing work on site at Nuclear facilities. We are experienced and have numerous hours of training in the cleanup of hazardous chemicals and materials. As mentioned above, we are putting into place and researching studies and training in this area. It is our intention to add these standards to our Safety Manual as well as the practical experience. (We contract a local experienced Environmental Engineering Firm for assistance on site work and technical support in safety factors).
As mentioned above TechniClean's focus is to pursue this knowledge thoroughly within the company to update our knowledge of required standards for each specific application on site.
Building exteriors with buildup of surface contamination is not a problem for us to clean. We have the capability to clean cement surfaces removing up to 1/8" of the exterior. Nuclear sites and radiation have not been experienced to date, but we have the technical abilities to pursue projects requiring cryogenic pellet blast cleaning. In order to work with the nuclear industry our staff must be specially trained for the normal work site procedures including exposure levels and practical applications required for this specialty cleaning.
